I'mmm Back: Cass Elliot Screenplay

Hi! Merry Christmas to all!

This is a screenplay I'm writing called "Cass Elliot"- i'm not very far, but I'll update this post frequently so you can keep in touch with her story.

Scene 1
Int. Elliot sitting room

JAYNA ELLIOT(begin offstage, walk on as she's talking)
                                                             Cass!
Cass runs on, looking worried at her mothers urgent tone.
CASS
Yes, mom? What is it?
                                       JAYNA (worried)
Your father had a panic attack. He's stable, but fainted. It might've been a stroke, but that's for the doctors to decide. I'm going to drive him to the hospital and may not be back until late. Can you get Hannah to bed if I'm not back by 9:00?
CASS
Okay.. I really hope Dad’s fine…
JAYNA
                      I’ll call you.
JAYNA exits.
Sound Effect: car accellerating.
CASS:
Hannah! Dad fainted (trying to hide her concern). Mom’s at the hospital. What do you want for dinner?

Hannah enters, crying.
CASS
Listen! Dad (hopefully- mutter this part) will be fine. He’s fainted before. The doctors say he has weak blood pressure . I need you to calm down. Now, what would you like for dinner?

HANNAH (crying, but starting to calm down)
        Mac and cheese, I guess.
CASS
OK. Do you want to call mom while I make dinner?

          HANNAH
Okay!
CASS
I’ll call her, and I have to talk to her first before I let you, and I have to put your conversation on speakerphone. I’ll need you to go play. I’ll call you down in a minute.

Hannah sticks her tongue out at Cass, but exits anyways.Cass pulls out a cellphone and Jayna enters to the far corner of the stage (with a microphone). Cass dials a number.

I have that conversation played out in my head already but it's not written down so...

Great News

So, I forgot to delete the blog, and I'm revisiting this.
A bit of info about my latest projects: I took a writing class, so now I'm writing 1865: Lincolns Angel,  a time-traveling story. I am also doing a screenplay called "Jessica Adams". I will post the first couple things of Jessica Adams, but will wait to post 1865 until it is finished.

JESSICA enters, hears her mothers voice offstage.
MS.JONES (OFFSTAGE): Jessie, have you been in contact with your father recently?
JESSICA: No, why?
MS. JONES: He and his girlfriend Hanna are taking you and Nora out to dinner at the Groisser’s Deli  in 45 minutes. I wanted to make sure that was still on..
JESSICA( PUNCHING NUMBERS ON HER CELL PHONE): Hi Dad! Are we still on for going out to dinner? {pause} Oh, that’s to bad…. See you tomorrow! Love you too. Bye. MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hanna’s sick, so it’s off.
MS. JONES enters.
MS JONES: That’s too bad… I know you miss him so….
JESSICA: In that case, Skylar is going to the late-night  signing at B&N for “Goddess of the Night”- Jennifer Stewart’s latest romance novel!  You know she’s my favorite author. It goes from 9:30 to 2:00 AM. I know my curfew is 10:30, but Mrs.Green will be with us… please???
MS. JONES: Be home by 12:30… OK? Wait… is it a book signing?
JESSICA: Yes!!!
MS. JONES: Fine… Bring the other books you have by Ms. Stewart, they can get signed as well.
JESSICA: Great… she’ll pick me up in 8 hours.
MS. JONES: Oh, maybe Olivia would like to come! She’s never read any of Jen Stewart's books, but she loves romance novels… Liv! Would you like to go to a book signing with Skylar and Jessica?
OLIVIA (OFF-STAGE): No thanks, Marie!
JESSICA: Oh well.

That's all for now folks!
